Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Administrative Program adjunct position for the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU).

This position provides support to the academic unit and advisors of the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences (FWCS) and is responsible for planning and coordinating various elements of the Corvallis Campus and Ecampus academic programs offered by the Department.

Support tasks include, but not limited to 1) scheduling 60+ course sections each term and serving as the departmental liaison to the Registrar, 2) initiating, tracking, and executing tasks significant to course and program proposals for new programs and courses, as well as their associating updates, to ensure compliance with University regulations and policies, 3) use of databases to develop program reports essential to making operational decisions related to all FWCS academic programs, and 4) working with Associate Department Head on annual Learner results and Program Assessment reporting.

FWCS is an academic unit that reports to the College of Agricultural Sciences. The Department is composed of approximately 300 staff, including academic faculty, research adjuncts, classified staff, graduate students, and temporary staff. Over $9 million of externally funded grants and contracts are received each year in support of science focused on basic ecological research, conservation, and sustainable use of fish and wildlife and their habitats. The Department is the largest in the College of Agricultural Sciences, with over 1000 majors in 8 degree and certificate programs, including one Bachelor of Science degree, five graduate degrees, and two graduate certificates. We are a vibrant department that promotes a supportive ?family? atmosphere for all students and employees.

Position tasks 50% Course Schedule Development
• Develop and revise term course schedules for FWCS courses offered through Corvallis, Hatfield Marine Science Center, and Ecampus using requests from Faculty, Instructors, and Graduate Students.
• Provide guidance regarding appropriate times, locations, and terms for course offerings to Faculty Instructors, as needed.
• Manage and review annually the course fee book for FWCS courses in conformity with proposal deadlines.
• Initiate, develop and track new course fee proposals in conformity with OSU Fees Online - Business Affairs - Financial Accounting Analysis. Review and track course fee charges and revenues, report annually to dept head and curriculum committee.
• Ensure the instructors and GTA's take FERPA training prior to the start of each academic term.

40% Academic Program Support and Report Generation
• Collect student assessment data, syllabi, justifications, and course information for annual learning results assessment reporting to comply with requirements set by the University Curriculum Council, Discapability Access Services, and Office of the Registrar.
• Schedule classroom and departmental conference rooms for faculty, staff, and students.
• Research, collect and prepare student data reports using CORE reports that are used for program management, evaluation, retention, and determining academic policies, including learner outcome assessments.
• Compile detailed information for reports quarterly, annually, or as needed. Undergraduate learner results assessment required by CAS to determine whether the program is meeting College and University academic assessment standards.
• Create and manage internal textbook tracking and term review process.
• Develop and provide historical and statistical information used to determine departmental operational needs and evaluate program results related to enrollment data, teaching FTE, course offerings, etc.

10% Other tasks
• Serve and actively participate on departmental committees.
• Assist with departmental social and outreach activities, as applicable.
• Participate in significant professional development opportunities.
• Support the department, college, and university goals for enhancing community and diversity.

Minimum Qualifications Three years of office practice which included two years at full performance level and practice generating documents; and Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.

Additional Required Qualifications Intermediate level of expertise for general Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

Demonstrated capability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, in addition to strong interpersonal communication expertise.

Demonstrated capability to work independently and function effectively in a busy office environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications Previous practice (2+ years) providing administrative support for a project, program, or operation.

Expert/advanced level of Excel expertise with capability to quickly manipulate bulk data into digestible formats, create pivot tables, graphs, and projections for the future located on current trends.

Previous practice (2+ years) with OSU internal computing systems CORE and BANNER.

Previous practice using internal OSU scheduling system for room assignments and course management.

Record of/commitment to work with underrepresented/underserved students or other audiences.

Life practice, education, or training that broadens capacity to equalize student success or impact underserved audiences.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule Fast-paced, active office environment with frequent interruptions and regular foot traffic. Schedule is 8:00am - 5:00pm on weekdays in Nash Hall on the main OSU Corvallis Campus.
