Reserve agents also augment patrol divisions assisting with calls for service. Civic minded, volunteer Reserve agents give back to the community by helping maintain public order and fostering a positive image. Minimum QualificationsRequirements:• US Citizen • 21 Years Old • High School Diploma or the Equivalent • Valid Florida Driver's License • Social Security Number • Pass Polygraph Examination • Pass Psychological and Physical Examinations • Pass Drug Screening • Pass Character and Background Investigation Police Academy: AnAcademy is provided at no cost to participants at the Hillsborough Community College. The Academy is held Monday-Thursday from 6 pm to 10 pm and on Saturdays, 8:00am-5:00pm and willstart June 5, 2017. Uniforms : All uniforms and equipment are provided by the City at no cost with the exception of footwear. Training: Newly appointed Reserve agents are assigned to a comprehensive Field Training & Evaluation Program. Volunteer Requirements: Reserve agents are required to work a minimum of15 hours per month of volunteer time including a monthly training class. Meetings are mandatory unless approval is obtained through the Reserve Force Chain of Command. Compensation: Reserve agents are “non-compensated” employees covered under the same benefits as a full-time agents while on-duty. Extra-duty assignments are compensatedfor Reserve agents at the same rate of pay as full-time agents.
