DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The National Corporate Sponsorship department is responsible for securing corporate sponsors for national television series/programs/websites/podcasts produced by GBH and contracted outside producers. The department is made up of several teams: sales, marketing, research, and client services. The Client Services staff (also called the Account Management team) works with national corporate sponsors to execute all aspects of the sponsorships. They are the primary liaisons with national sponsors and the series production units, and partner with the sales team on sponsorship renewals and upsells.

JOB OVERVIEW
The National Account Director supervises the management of relationships with SGPTV's national corporate sponsors. This person is a key member of a national team that sells and services multi-platform national sponsorships of series produced by GBH and numerous outside producers. The National Account Director is responsible for the execution of all elements of national sponsorship packages and serves as the liaison between corporate clients and all significant departments at GBH as well as with external series and various teams at PBS KIDS. The National Account Director works in partnership with members of the national sales team to renew and/or ?up-sell? existing clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Relationship Management
   »
Strategically manage relationships with SGPTV's national corporate sponsors.
   »
supervise and manage relationships with external KIDS production producers.
   »
Serve as the primary liaison between corporate clients and significant internal and external production teams and related departments including outreach, station relations, digital, and national marketing.
   »
Serve as a strategic partner for clients, developing and executing plans to maximize the benefits of sponsorship.
   »
Identify new engagement opportunities for sponsors (e.g. series newsletters, blog inclusions, social media campaigns, etc.)
   »
Communicate public television standards and practices to clients as they pertain to sponsorship (on-air spots, digital & promotional guidelines).
   »
Problem-solve and manage client-related issues/crises as they arise.

Execution of Sponsorship Deliverables
   »
supervise the execution of all elements of sponsorship benefits that have been contracted and/or presented as part of sponsorship packages, including on-air and web benefits, promotions, events, talent appearances, screenings, community outreach, etc.
   »
Partner with appropriate members of the sales team and work towards the goal of renewing current sponsors and/or ?up-selling? them.
   »
Serve as the client advocate with a variety of internal constituencies, representing client interests at GBH and with third-party entities. Share information about the goals and expectations of corporate sponsors.
   »
Develop and manage the corresponding budget(s) for delivering sponsorship packages.
   »
Run sponsorship launch and renewal meetings with clients.
   »
Provide updated reports to clients on the status/progress of their sponsorships and the programs they sponsor (benefits executed, carriage, awards?)
   »
Attend internal team meetings to remain updated on programs, policies, budgets, etc. related to sponsorship deliverables.

Management of Associate Account Manager and Account Coordinator
   »
Supervise Associate Account Manager and Account Coordinator on the execution of all aspects of sponsorship deliverables.
   »
Manage distribution of work across the team.
   »
Provide performance feedback and annual performance reviews.
   »
Train team to become ?product experts? on specific productions and/or genres and assist the sales team in brainstorming ideas for potential clients.

Strong written and verbal communication expertise, be a confident public speaker, pay high attention to detail, and be a well-organized time-manager of multiple projects with various, often last-minute deadlines.

Must possess strong interpersonal expertise, the capability to exercise good judgment under pressure, and exhibit poise and professionalism when communicating with executives.

Strong management practice, managing staff at different levels.
   »

Proficient with Macintosh systems, and practice with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint applications.

Familiarity with media metrics (i.e. Nielsen, Google Analytics) and the capability to analyze/create a story from the data, a plus.

EDUCATION AND practice
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work practice is required. 6 to 8 years of practice in related fields (account management, client relations, marketing, media, agency work, business development) is required.
