Organizational Unit Overview The mission of the East Carolina University College of Business Graduate Programs is to recruit, admit, and advise a diverse graduate business student population. Job tasks The Administrative Support Associate reports to the Director within the Graduate Programs Office. The scope of the position extends from the College of Business to the entire University community.

The Administrative Support Associate is integral to the support functions of the office. The Associate is responsible for front line support for the Director and adjunct Directors. The Associate maintains an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of University and College policies, procedures, and information systems related to graduate student recruitment, admission, advising, and student worker supervision. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: administrative assistance and support, prepare and process graduate adjunct contracts, record management, event management, budget management and reconciliation, purchasing, travel management, and public contact. The Associate regularly interacts with a broad range of College stakeholders, requiring strong communication expertise and the capability to use a wide variety of technical resources for providing support.

The Administrative Support Associate is responsible for a number of specific job assignments. For each assignment, the Associate must do the following:
   » Maintain an in-depth knowledge of University and College policies, rules, and regulations regarding specific processes and technologies proprietary to the College.
   » Maintain accurate records using a number of advanced features within proprietary College databases and tracking systems.
   » Interpret and apply established College operating procedures in resolving recurring and unique issues and problems.
   » Interpret multiple instructions and client needs to develop verbal and written communications.

Minimum Education/practice High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to execute the work.

License or Certification required by statute or regulation None

Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education ECU practice and excellent computer expertise, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
