The College of Business is comprised of 3 Schools: Marketing, Analytics, and Design; Management, Entrepreneurship, and Supply Chain; and Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems. The Design Programs are located in the School of Marketing, Analytics, and Design. The School of Marketing, Analytics, and Design in the College of Business offers undergraduate programs in Design including Apparel Design, Interior Design, Design Innovation Management, and Merchandising Management. At the adjunct Professor level, candidates are expected to establish a program of research/scholarship that leads to timely promotion in rank and the granting of indefinite tenure, with evidence for potential of continued research and scholarly publication in leading peer-refereed journals. At the Associate and Full Professor level, candidates are expected to provide evidence of research/scholarship excellence and have an established program of research/scholarship and scholarly publications in leading peer-refereed journals. All faculty are expected to engage in service activities both within the university and their profession. Finally, all faculty are expected to be collegial members of the unit and to honor and comply with the College's code of conduct and conduct appropriate for a professional educator. COB academic faculty teaching assignments may include course delivery in any format (i.e. in person, online, hybrid). Other contributions may be considered. 10% - Service (20% for Associate or Full Professor Level): * Engaging in appropriate activities both within the University and their profession, and contributing to the College and University strategic initiatives. Minimum/Required Qualifications An appropriate earned doctorate with an emphasis in Apparel Design or related area by time of employment start date. prosperous candidates for adjunct Professor will have evidence of potential for research excellence and scholarly publication leading peer-refereed journals. prosperous candidates for Associate or Full Professor will hold a similar rank with tenure and will have evidence of research excellence and scholarly publication in leading peer-refereed journals. Strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service. Candidates also need to demonstrate potential for teaching high-quality courses at the undergraduate level. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Preferred (Special) Qualifications practice in teaching two or more of the following undergraduate courses: apparel production/construction, technical design, fit, flat pattern sizing and grading, functional design, product development and the design process in the fashion industry. Demonstrated capability to utilize professional subject-related technology for teaching and/or scholarly work. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. practice and interest in 3-D Fit and Apparel virtualization technology, such as Browzwear, Optitex or Clo3D. Record of achievement in publication/creative activity and/or external funding. significant professional non-academic work practice. Demonstrated capability to develop strong linkages with the business community and industry.
