Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Laboratory adjunct for the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU).

The candidate will perform basic laboratory maintenance tasks, including: glassware washing, stocking/ordering cell culture and molecular biological reagents and supplies, autoclaving, invoice/order maintenance, and waste disposal.

Position tasks
   » Glassware washing/autoclaving
   » Tissue/cell culture room maintenance (stocking with pipettes, plates, flasks, media, antibiotics, etc.)
   » Ordering reagents and supplies, including oligonucleotide primers, DNA amplification reagents, and cell culture supplies and reagents.
   » Disposal and autoclaving of cell culture waste materials.
Minimum Qualifications Employment Eligibility Requirements (http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts)

Additional Required Qualifications Candidate should have ~3 months practice in a molecular biological laboratory, and possess familiarity with cell culture, protein blotting, transient transfections, and RT-PCR.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
