Summary
   .
The Manager of leadership abilities Gifts will develop and implement a comprehensive annual plan for soliciting, securing and stewarding major, planned and corporate gifts for KBTC Public Television. This individual will also assist with operational, administrative, and event activities designed to engage, cultivate, steward, expand and diversify current and prospective donors.
Essential Functions and Other tasks
   .
   » In support of philanthropic giving, develop a long term approach and annual plan and strategy for identifying, stewarding and soliciting major donors.
   » Develop and execute an annual marketing plan for planned gifts.
   » Working with the Director of Development, develop a strategy for outreach to and stewardship of planned giving prospects and donors.
   » Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects (defined as those giving a gift of $1,000+), as well as those donors and prospects that have the capacity to give at the $1,000 level or higher.
   » Solicit gifts from new corporate clients and respond to inquiries.
   » Create proposals and marketing materials for corporate clients.
   » Serve as the primary relationship manager for this portfolio of prospects, developing and implementing a written donor strategy and relationship record (using Allegiance Database) of all interactions.
   » Steward relationships with existing corporate partners to include ensuring contract deliverables are met and partner expectations are exceeded.
   » Ensure that each major donor and prospect has a clear strategy and timeline for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
   » Communicate with portfolio through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation and stewardship meetings, and written strategies.
   » Work with corporate partners and station creative services team to create on-air acexpertisements that fit KBTC and FCC rules and regulations and benefit corporate partners.
   » Schedule and Manage on-air acexpertisement spots in client database.
   » Ensure proper donor recognition in all publications and supervise accurate donor lists for those publications.
   » Be a visible presence at special events and other station activities.
   » Remain current with PBS underwriting and PBS major giving development practices and trends.
   » Other tasks as assigned.

Non-Essential/Other Functions
   » Accountable for keeping personal development up-to-date; adding to expertise and expertise through courses that may be available through the Bates Technical College courses, professional development committees, etc.
   » Participate actively and collaboratively on committees for college as needed including but not limited to staff recruitment, college councils, etc.

Qualifications
   .
   » Bachelor's Degree
   » Three or more years of fundraising or corporate partnership practice in a philanthropic environment.
   » Three or more years of practice in prospect management, donor cultivation and solicitation including major gift fundraising.
   » Demonstrated expertise of fundraising best practices.
   » practice with a donor database.
   » Passion for the mission of public television and KBTC.
   » Valid Washington State Driver's License and reliable vehicle for reimbursable travel.
Allowable Substitution
If necessary, alternative combinations of education and practice may be evaluated by Human Resources for comparcapability.
Preferred Qualifications
   » Four or more years of practice working for a non-profit organization in a fundraising function. Conditions of Employment
   » Per Washington State guidelines, Bates Technical College is a fully vaccinated campus and will require all staff and students to provide proof of vaccination status or request a medical or religious exemption.
