Position Summary: The College of Education, Department of Instruction & Curriculum leadership abilities is seeking to add a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track adjunct Professor of Elementary Education beginning August 15, 2022. The applicant's teaching practice should demonstrate commitment to and practice with (1) elementary instructional methodology and theoretical frameworks; (2) teacher education preparation; (3) diversity, social justice, and equity to promote effective learning; (4) culturally significant and sustaining practice; and (5) comprehensive and sustained professional growth opportunities to enhance professional practices involving diverse populations. The candidate will have demonstrated commitments to the content area of elementary education, research/scholarship in the field of elementary education, have practice in teacher education, professional development, and field-located teacher education. Additionally, the candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching and service at a large research-located institution that integrates high-leverage practices into their coursework and professional development. Ideally, the candidate will have strong expertise of the edTPA, university teaching practice, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments, teaching practice with kindergarten through fifth-grade children. candidates will be expected to demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Teach and supervise field-located and online elementary education or related undergraduate and graduate courses.
· Implement a significant on-going program of focused scholarly research and publications, including collaborative efforts with colleagues.
· Provide service and leadership abilities to state, regional and national professional organizations, the university, college, and department.
· Provide professional service to surrounding school districts, education-related nonprofits, and programs
· Chair and serve on master's and doctoral committees.
· Engage in research, writing, and other scholarly activities related to elementary education

Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS

Required
· Earned Doctorate (obtained by August 1, 2022), in Elementary Education or closely related field
· Evidence of excellence in teaching for a minimum of 3 years in the K-5 setting
· Evidence of an emerging/established research agenda
· Demonstrated commitment to the educational and cultural needs of diverse populations

Desired

· practice working on externally funded projects and seeking external funding
· skills in using classroom assessments and student achievement data to inform instruction
· Demonstrated use of technology integration in teaching and professional development
· Participation in collaborative and school/community-located initiatives and partnerships
· Demonstrated teacher leadership abilities and practice with field-located teacher preparation
· Highly motivated, organized, and able to handle multiple responsibilities
· Effective, strong communication skills
· practice instructing courses in higher education setting
· Demonstrated expertise of 21st century education and education for globalization
· Current teaching license
