Hours Per Week: 27-hour workweek. Monday 2:00 PM-8 PM, Tuesday through Thursday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, with approximately 2 Wednesday evening meetings per month.

ESSENTIAL tasks AND Job responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, provide primary administrative and clerical support to two small departments: Peace Commission (Peace) and the Police Review & Advisory Board (PRAB), located at 51 Inman Street, 2nd Floor. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
   » Provide primary administrative support to the Executive Director, which includes scheduling and correspondence; preparation for conferences, trainings and other public presentations; and office filing and organization;
   » Provide comprehensive staff support for and monthly board meetings of PRAB and Peace, including scheduling and logistics for the meetings, drafting and posting agendas and meeting details on the City calendar, publicizing meetings for attendance, compiling and providing materials in advance for Board and Commission members, and taking notes and drafting meeting minutes in a timely manner;
   » Handle intake of complaints received by PRAB regarding the practices and policies of the Cambridge Police Department;
   » Maintain PRAB correspondence, case files and case management docket, to track and document all inquiries and cases that come to PRAB;
   » Maintain and update City web pages for Peace and PRAB;
   » Coordinate everyday operation of Peace and PRAB's administrative functions, including recordkeeping of departmental fiscal matters and accounts payable/receivable;
   » Perform reception and office management tasks for Peace and PRAB's administrative office, including ordering, receiving, and keeping an inventory of all supplies;
   » Provide administrative support as needed for other departments in shared office space, when staff are on leave; and
   » Perform other related tasks as needed.

MINIMUM Requirements:
prosperous candidate will have excellent customer service expertise, excellent organizational expertise, and attention to detail, and will be able to prioritize and multi-task work for two small departments. Strong interpersonal expertise are essential, including capability to maintain composure, sensitivity, confidentiality, and discretion in interactions with a wide variety of individuals and communities.
Strong writing and communication expertise. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, practice and/or training. practice carrying out general administrative tasks in an office setting. Demonstrated computer literacy using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Access and Excel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: capability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Answer telephones and maintain multiple files. May require minimal lifting of up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : General office environment with air conditioning and fluorescent lighting. The office is active with phone calls and walk-in members of the public.
RATE: $20.96-26.05 per hour
