The School of Architecture was formally initiated by Frank Lloyd Wright as the Taliesin Fellowship in 1932 to provide a total learning environment that would foster responsible, creative and cultured human beings. Apprentices, as members of the Fellowship were called, gained practice not only in architecture but also in construction, farming, gardening and cooking, and the study of nature, music, art and dance. Today, the School offers the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) and Master of Science of Architecture (MS.Arch) degrees through one of the most unique educational practices available in higher education.
The Director of Admissions is a remote hybrid position that manages the student recruitment and enrollment process from inquiry to matriculation. this function requires considerable interaction with prospective students. The position serves as the primary contact for prospective students and their families and provides outstanding communication and customer service to achieve annual enrollment goals. The Director of Admissions creates and maintains efficient processes that ensure timely processing of applications, communications with students, and measurable results.
Essential Functions:
   » Collaborates with the Dean and President to design and implement a comprehensive strategic plan including revolving 90-day, 6-month and one-year strategies of admitting new students
   » Increases percentage of enrollments through practice and diligence of follow-up with correspondence and routine phone conversations
   » Presents the school to prospective students, which includes responding immediately to admissions inquiries; efficient handling of communication with candidates and applications; campus tours; candidate interviews; arrangements for admissions testing; securing necessary student credentials; and communicating final enrollment decisions to the appropriate individuals
   » Provides outreach and support for international students in support of TSOA's annual recruitment and enrollment goals
   » Leads the development of student recruitment and admissions materials, ensures that website content and social media is current and accurate
   » Promotes good relationships and creates networking opportunities and support with representatives of outside institutions or groups that can be valuable in attracting students
   » Works with current students and alumni to attract potentialstudents; develops and maintains connections to alumni
   » Ensures that monitoringsystems are in place to track compliance with all federal and state laws
   » Acts as Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)
Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » Must have practice in higher education student recruitment, preferably post-secondary education
   » Bachelor's degree required
   » Proven skills in recruiting and supporting inquiries all over the enrollment process
   » practice developing and conducting prosperous student recruitment campaigns
   » Marketing and promotional practice
   » Familiarity with Frank Lloyd Wright and the unique nature of the programs and residence life at The School a plus but not required
   » capability to succinctly and clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing
   » Proven capability to collaborate with a wide cross-section of senior administrators, professional staff, and vendors
   » An entrepreneurial, get Information technology done work ethic with ownership and accountcapability
   » Demonstrated flexibility, efficient time management, and capability to prioritize workload
   » Demonstrated capability to work independently and as a member of a team
   » capability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and make sound, independent judgments
   » Strong expertise of Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, marketing email software (MailerLite, Mailchimp)
   » Valid driver’s license
Preferred Appropriate qualifications:
   » Masters degree
   » Some management practice in post-secondary education preferred
   » Higher education practice in international recruitment, admissions and financial aid at a private, residential institution preferred
