Our station has an exciting opportunity available in its award-winning newsroom for a passionate storyteller who isn't afraid to ask tough questions, dig into public records, and hold government accountable. As a government/public affairs reporter, the candidate will have an knowledge of how local and state governments operate, can research and request public records including court documents, and be able to come up with novel story ideas that focus on issues under-reported or represented. They know how to find sources and can jump from state to local without a problem, can maneuver in breaking news situations and respond to tight deadlines. WFSU Public Media boasts a 60-year tradition of producing award-winning reporters and programs. Our recognitions include regional Emmy's, national Edward R. Murrow awards, and a coveted Sigma Delta Chi award.
