The University of Memphis is an R2 Research University emphasizing scholarship, teaching, and service. The University of Memphis is committed to achieving R1 classification by 2023, and the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department is a research-intensive group of faculty working within an environment committed to community engagement and collaboration. A Juris Doctorate or Ed.D. will not be considered as a terminal degree for this position. These are generalist positions, and all specializations will be considered. ABD's will be considered if evidence can be shown that completion of the Ph.D. will occur prior to Fall 2022. prosperous candidates are expected to have a well-developed research agenda or evidence of potential for scholarly research, teaching excellence, and the capability to engage in scholar/practitioner partnerships with Criminal Justice agencies.
