Position Summary: The University of Memphis Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for two (2) tenure-track positions at the rank of adjunct Professor to begin Fall 2022. The University of Memphis is an R2 Research University emphasizing scholarship, teaching, and service. The University of Memphis is committed to achieving R1 classification by 2023, and the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department is a research-intensive group of faculty working within an environment committed to community engagement and collaboration. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related social science discipline. A Juris Doctorate or Ed.D. will not be considered as a terminal degree for this position. These are generalist positions, and all specializations will be considered. ABD's will be considered if evidence can be shown that completion of the Ph.D. will occur prior to Fall 2022. prosperous candidates are expected to have a well-developed research agenda or evidence of potential for scholarly research, teaching excellence, and the capability to engage in scholar/practitioner partnerships with Criminal Justice agencies. Faculty teach two courses per semester and are expected to participate in the service needs of the department and the University.
