They serve as a set of expectations and a promise we make to ourselves, our partners and audiences. • Creative • Curious • Ethical • Inclusive • Respectful About Our Job:The Podcast Editor / Producer leads the development of podcast episodes and pilots produced by the Audio Innovations Studio, from initial pitch to final product, working across all services to ensure the most effective and impactful content. The Editor / Producer will work with the Audio Innovations team to steer podcasts, documentaries and other audio products from reporting to story scripting and presentation, to powerful use of sound.As a Podcast Editor/Producer, You Will:» Act as primary content editor and supervise producers on long-form audio projects. Guide longform storytelling -- including feedback on reporting plans, multiple script drafts and mixes, and final mixes.» Work closely with Audio Innovations Executive Producer and Audio Innovations team to ensure best practices, optimal decision making and use of resources in production and in planning stages. Work to book interviews with diverse voices for CPR's reporting and storytelling. Collaborate with News editors and service leaders on editorial integrity of News and Music productions. » Pitch and produce stories and projects, including contributions to our existing shows and pilots in development. Work with outside talent and freelancers on developing new audio products as opportunities arise. Minimum Appropriate qualifications:» Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and practice required.» Minimum of two years developing and editing audio content with proven reach and impact, and an knowledge of the production sensibilities of podcasting and how to incorporate longform storytelling approaches required. » Capable of handling all stages of the production process: pitching, planning, interview scripting, interview production, story structure, scripting, revising, mixing preferred. » Minimum of three years strong journalism and/or documentary practice, including project management required. » Demonstrated skill producing and mixing audio required. » Minimum of two years practice coordinating/collaborating with audio hosts, reporters, producers, sound designers required. advantages:Colorado Public Radio is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package that reflects our culture of caring.
