Offer: Editor, Production & Media Manager:Job description:Editor, Production & Media ManagerShare via:Chicago, Illinois Post Production - Editing, Compositing, Motion Graphics, & Visual Effects Full Time The HistoryMakers Apply to Job practiced Editor, Production & Media Manager sought for The HistoryMakers, a 501 (c ) (3) non profit and the nation's largest African American video oral history archive located in Chicago's South Loop (www.thehistorymakers.org). The candidate hired must be willing and able to work on site. Prior practice managing a small production facility with a Facilis Shared Storage System, two Avid and Premier edit suites, supervising production crews and editing documentaries as well multi-camera PBS TV programs. expertise of Avid, Premiere as well as After Effects and Photoshop a must. Must also be able to migrate the organization's archival footage into an archival tape retrieval system using LTO tape. Responsibilities •Production facility management and equipment maintenance while supervising the checking in and out of freelance crews and equipment and the organization's inventory control system. •Migrate video footage and supervise operation of a tape and retrieval system. •Edit documentaries using the content produced by The HistoryMakers oral history interviews as well as its multi-camera live to tape An Evening With?PBS TV programs. •Create graphics and show opens using Photoshop and After Effects •Update The HistoryMakers Filemaker Pro tracking database and PBCore media asset management system while following The HistoryMakers production and archival procedures. •Troubleshoot equipment and software as necessary. •Other tasks as assigned. expertise •Production and Post Production(Editing with both Avid and Premiere) •IT background(network server administration) •Photoshop and After Effects •MS Office (Word, Filemaker, Excel) Benefits The HistoryMakers competitive benefits package includes 403(b), PTO, health, vision and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement and school loan repayment assistance.
