Position Summary The Office of Equal Opportunity and Access is seeking an Affirmative Action Associate or Senior Affirmative Action Associate. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Access is committed to success for the entire university community through equality, fairness, and knowledge. This position supports the affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity obligations and commitments of the university by performing a wide-range of functions related to advancing equity and ensuring compliance. This position is responsible for ensuring technical compliance with internal and external policies, practices, and regulations, with emphasis on the university's affirmative action obligations; working in collaboration with the Affirmative Action Manager, assembles and delivers the Affirmative Action Plan; and for developing, implementing, and assessing recruitment strategies related to affirmative action requirements. This position also collaboratively and independently designs and delivers training and educational programs to the campus community. Responsible for the development and co-implementation of the University's Affirmative Action Plan.

This position may be filled at one of two levels, Affirmative Action Associate or Senior Affirmative Action Associate, if identified qualifications are met. The increased level of independence and tasks of the Senior level are described in both the tasks and decision-making sections below.

This position may be eligible for hybrid work as agreed upon between employee and manager.

Position tasks 65 % Affirmative Action Plan Development and Implementation
   » 20% Plan Development and Implementation
   » With direction from manager produce federally-mandated AA analyses, compliant reports, and plans of action, including but not limited to the university Affirmative Action Plans and the VETS-4212 Employment Report. Revise and write updated affirmative action process documents.
   » Write and assemble affirmative action plans with narratives and disseminate placement goal information to business centers, deans, division leaders and administrative leaders, as approved by the manager.
   » In collaboration with manager assist leaders in developing ?good faith efforts? in response to placement goals and the university equity vision.
   » Assist manager in advising administration of strategies/initiatives needed to accomplish AA goals/obligations including potential action-oriented programs.
   » At the Senior Affirmative Action Associate level tasks in this section would be completed with more independence and less direction from the Affirmative Action Manager.
   » 20% Recruitment
   » Develop content and performs as the strategy leader for recruitment resources, and consults with manager for approval.
   » In conformity with university policy and federal and state regulations, maintain existing recruitment resources and develop, implement, maintain, and assess additional means of recruitment, targeting underrepresented groups, with particular focus on veterans and individuals with disabilities.
   » Assess effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
   » Serve as process expert to assist hiring units in their diversity recruitment efforts.
   » At the Senior Affirmative Action Associate Level tasks in this section may include management of EO/AA compliance considerations for search firms and temp agencies.
   » 20% Data Analysis and Reporting
   » Structure, perform, coordinate, facilitate and/or manage sophisticated data analyses and reports including analysis of potential adverse impact in hiring and other analyses related to potential areas of concern. Through such analysis, identify systemic impacts to compliance and participate in designing and implementing solutions.
   » Assemble reports for meetings with university leadership abilities and attend leadership abilities meetings with the manager.
   » Outside of typical planning cycle, provide departments with summary demographic data within the purview of EOA.
   » Work collaboratively with HR to ensure HRIS Affirmative Action data is maintained and accurate.
   » Perform stage analysis, as requested by search committees, to determine the demographic impact to a pool.
   » The Senior Affirmative Action Associate level tasks in this section would include: conduct data analysis in order to facilitate process improvements in collaboration with university partners; and conduct data analysis and facilitate efforts in partnership with HR to ensure better management and processing of data related to the Affirmative Action Plan.
   » 5% Knowledge and skills development and maintenance
   » Remain informed about changes to Affirmative Action programs supervisen by the OFCCP.
   » Manage and maintain relationships with affirmative action software provider. Stay up to date on software advances and maintain skills with the operating system.
15% Search Process
   » Provide intervention and guidance to search committees that encounter issues within EOA purview in consultation with the manager.
   » Share waiver of competitive search review responsibilities with manager.
   » Assists the manager in implementing changes to the search process prompted by new policy, regulatory changes, or university need.
   » Provide direction, guidance and/or consultation about search, selection, employment, diversity, affirmative action and other related topics with a specific focus on recruitment efforts.
   » The Senior Affirmative Action Associate level tasks in this section may allow for more independence and leadership abilities in leading policy located changes.
10% Training
   » Establish, implement, and assess affirmative action training related to the management and search process with the manager.
   » Develop, implement, deliver and assess training related to waivers of competitive search, recruitment, and other areas independently after consultation with manager.
   » Present affirmative action search information to search committees, as requested.
5% Human Resources Liaison
   » Provide functional EO and affirmative action leadership abilities to Office of Human Resources in affirmative action and equal opportunity matters in consultation with the manager, as needed.
5% Service and Other Activities:
   » Provide service to the university and surrounding community, including participation on university committees and in campus/community activities related to diversity, equity, equal opportunity and affirmative action.
   » Additional responsibilities as assigned, including opportunities for growth in affirmative action, equal opportunity, diversity, and other areas of interest.
