Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Information Security Program Analyst Student position for the Office of Information Security (OIS). OIS provides information security services, policy and support for the Oregon State University Community.

Position tasks 25% Training
Assist the Information Security Program Manager (ISPM) with the Training and consciousness Program. Conduct research of information security topics. Draft training plans, including learning objectives and results. Assist with presenting training. Lead the Students for Online Advocacy & Privacy Security Advisory group and student-related information security communications, training, and consciousness campaigns.
25% Communication
Assist the ISPM with communication and outreach. Update website with new policies and rules. Assist with social media presence. Write brief articles for regular updates to OSU media outlets. Assist with presenting to the university community on behalf of the Office of Information Security.
20% Reporting
Assist the ISPM with other tasks as assigned related to supporting the Information Security Program, including reporting on the progress of program initiatives in multiple sources, such as monthly reports to the CIO, quarterly reports regarding strategic plan progress, and updating and maintaining the project plans.
20% Projects
Assist the ISPM with projects. Conduct independent research on project topics. Collaborate and coordinate with others, including employees from across the university and colleagues from peer institutions. Lead components of projects, such as soliciting feedback on new policies or institutionalizing baseline configurations. Project examples may include disaster recovery, security policy documentation, or other information security topics.
10% Professional development
Participate in job/function-located training and experiential opportunities all over the year to improve expertise and techniques.

   » High level knowledge of policy development processes at a higher education institution.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Hourly wage dependent on practice. Students with no practice will start at the $12.75 minimum wage.
   » Student that is hired may start work in December if mutually agreeable to the student hired and the hiring manager.
