Fortier Public Relations' award-winning 27-person book publicity team is growing and seeking a Publicity adjunct to support and be mentored by our senior publicists.

This is an exciting opportunity to apprentice with some of the industry's most practiced publicists and to lgain the expertise required to effectively publicize business and nonfiction books from leading publishers like Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, and HarperCollins. This is an ideal position for someone who is looking to begin a career in publishing, PR, or agency work. If you are an organized multi-tasker, persuasive communicator, avid media consumer, strategic problem-solver, and detail guru who is hungry for growth, this is the job for you.

This adjunct will assist a Publicity Director & Publicity Manager on book publicity campaigns. While the function involves administrative work that requires attention to detail-managing schedules for multiple authors, compiling reports on FPR campaigns, and maintaining campaign trackers-there is certainly room for growth for anybody seeking mentorship in launching their publicity career!

Specific responsibilities include:
? Providing support with high profile author campaigns, including media outreach, creating press kits and galley letters, and coordinating tours (virtual or in-person).
? Maintaining campaign trackers with details of media outreach & bookings.
? Compiling biweekly reports on FPR activity & bookings to be shared with clients.
? Confirming author interviews with various media outlets and relaying all significant details to clients.
? Seeking publicity opportunities across print, broadcast, and online media for assigned titles, in a wide variety of genres and formats.
? Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with significant media contacts, including editors, producers, and reviewers.
? Communicating with bookstores, other retail partners to coordinate book purchases.
? Working and communicating closely with authors, agents, and in-house publicists.
? Performing general administrative tasks such as coordinating mailings, monitoring media outlets, media database entry, performing online research to acquire publicity contacts, and setting up meetings.
