Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Technician positions within University Information & Technology-Customer practice (UITCX) Service Desk at Oregon State University (OSU).

UITCX is a diverse organization made up of 70+ student employees and 20 full-time staff of varying backgrounds working in several functional areas: Service Desk, Community Network, CoSINe, Campus Operators, and Campus Labs. Service Desk student technicians are the first line of technical support to the OSU community.

Position tasks Help OSU community members with their technology needs via phone, email or in-person
   » Provide excellent customer service
   » Participate in a team-oriented environment
   » Research and troubleshoot technology issues and questions
   » Configure and repair computers
   » Install software
   » Document customer requests
   » Write documentation
   » Help with cleaning and maintenance of work spaces
   » Help train other technicians
   » Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Employment Eligibility Requirements (http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts)

Additional Required Qualifications
   » Eligible to work as an OSU student, and able to work at least 10 hours/week
   » Must have at least one full year left of school before graduating (i.e, must not graduate before the end of Fall 2022).
   » Willing to provide excellent customer service
   » Communicates well in-person and in writing
   » Willing to lgain new things and interested in at least one area of technology
   » Attention to detail and excellent follow-through
   » capability to attend work regularly and on-time
   » Good problem-solving expertise & decision-making capability
   » Basic computer expertise
   » Possess CJIS clearance or the capability to obtain Information technology as necessary
