On Our Own, a nonprofit dedicated to providing peer support and referral services for people who are/have been experiencing significant mental health and/or substance use challenges, seeks an Executive Director. The Executive Director is an exempt, executive level staff position in partnership with the Board of Directors to supervise all phases of prosperous operations of the On Our Own Mental Health Recovery center. The Executive Director, under the close coordination, guidance and oversight of the Board of Directors, has full responsibility to conduct and manage the operation of On Our Own, The Drop In Center, and Uplift Thrift. The Executive Director is responsible for a variety of tasks as determined through coordination and consultation between the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

-practice supervising and managing direct support and administrative staff
-expertise in development work, community engagement and mental health and substance use programming
-excellent written and oral communication expertise
-practice and skill in financial oversight and budgeting

Must have a bachelors degree in related field.
Payband 50-55k
income commensurate with practice. Benefits package includes: health insurance and PTO.

Job tasks

Responsibilities include (but may not be limited to) each of the following:
   » Prepare and/or provide input to the board of directors in developing and updating strategic plans, operational plans, objectives, policies, and procedures.
   » Implement strategic plans, objectives, operational plans, policies, and procedures.
   » Supervise and report to the Board on program effectiveness, and implement major additions and changes to programs as needed.
   » supervise and report to the Board on the financial status of On Our Own.
   » Partner with Staff and Members to develop new services and educational programs responsive to member and community needs and environmental changes.
   » Develop proposals for funding, new funding sources, viable WEB presence and fund raising programs.
   » Develop and maintain data gathering, evaluations, and data analysis to measure success in member recovery and the goals of the organization’s strategic and operational plans.
   » supervise the effective running of the day to day operations of the Center and its affiliate Uplift Thrift.
   » Ensure a welcoming environment, excellent customer service, and the continuing success of the organizational community.
   » Hire, develop, supervise, evaluate, and support the staff of On Our Own.
   » Ensure a welcoming environment, excellent customer service, and the continuing success of the organizational community.
   » Maintain responsibility and oversight for the physical plant and its furnishings.
   » Manage current grant contracts, project future needs and assure continuing funding.
   » Partner with our funding sources and other service providers to optimize the delivery of services to mental health consumers and those in recovery.
   » Assure integrity, accuracy, timely reporting and other management functions of all financial tasks and controls.
   » supervise all fiscal management operations, including paying bills, writing and signing checks, depositing monies, superviseing bookkeeping, payroll, and taxes, and authorizing expenditures.
   » Develop and maintain a broad expertise of peer led recovery programs, recovery, available recovery programs, peer support, the values of peer led recovery, and the principles of the recovery movement.
   » Manage the design and completion of programs, reports, invoices, and contract requirements of all funded programs.
   » Represent On Our Own with partner organizations and other community groups.
   » Develop and maintain collaborative programs, such as IST, PATH, Western State Hospital, and OAR.
   » Develop program support of On Our Own from local, regional, state, and federal agencies.

expertise Required

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
   » the capability to demonstrate skill in providing peer support to others;
   » practice leading mental health recovery programs;
   » strong expertise of recovery and peer led recovery programs;
   » strong leadership abilities expertise and the capability to generate organizational community;
   » the capability to generate positive working relations with a broad cross section of different types of people.
   » excellent written and verbal communication expertise;
   » the belief that recovery is possible for people that have significant mental health issues;
   » significant practice in the performance of above-stated responsibilities;
   » the capability to relate to others with significant mental health issues;
   » the capability to communicate effectively;
   » a college degree in a related field from an accredited university;
   » excellent management accounting and administrative expertise with a working expertise of quick books, computer technology, software, and accounting reports;
   » practice and success in development;
   » A history of success in self-recovery from mental health challenge(s).
