Job detail The Jefferson Area Board for Aging seeks an practiced philanthropy professional with a passion for nonprofit excellence. The Director of Philanthropy and Communication will lead the Philanthropic fundraising goals and Marketing and Communication plans and strategies for JABA. He/She will create, execute and evaluate all philanthropy strategies with a donor-centered philosophy as well as developing and implementing strategic marketing plans and promotional activity for JABA. Essential Functions/expertise Develop and implement fundraising plan for raising donated funds for JABA, including identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding potential donors; coordinates components of the development program, including annual giving, grant writing, direct mail, major gifts and planned giving and foundation support. supervises decisions related to tracking and integrity of the data on the constituent database. Ensures compliance with Virginia's solicitation requirements. Works closely with the CEO to identify and cultivate potential donors and strategic partners. Works closely with the leadership abilities team to implement the strategic goals related to Philanthropy. Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and promotional activities for JABA, including print and electronic materials, brochures, ads, reports and website content. supervises the team's production of videos, television and radio advertising. Provides marketing advice and general staff support to all departments within JABA to establish and maintain a consistent brand image. Staff management: guide and evaluate direct reports. Strategic Planning and Special Projects. Provide recommendations and input on trends, processes, and business opportunities.
