FringeArtsThe Programming Intern will assist the Programming Department in meeting the individual and logistical needs of presented and independent artists. This position is ideal for Somebody with practice in events programming and artist relations, with an interest in contemporary live art on a local and international scale.Responsibilities may include:collecting and organizing show information; coordinating housing and travel needs for out-of-town artists; assisting with artist contracts; assisting with programming and logistics; assisting with outreach and Festival artist recruitment; purchasing, delivering, and maintaining hospitality items for artists; tracking and reporting expenses; and assisting Programming department with additional tasks as needed. Special projects for the upcoming term may include soliciting artists for participation in Scratch Night and research and outreach for the performance archive. The Programming Intern should plan to propose and conduct one interview or review for publication on the FringeArts blog. The Programming Intern will also assist in day-to-day operations including communication with artists, mass mailings, and other administrative tasks. The Programming Intern often interfaces with artists and as such a expertise of and curiosity about contemporary performance across the genres of dance, theater, music, comedy, cabaret, and circus is essential. Appropriate qualifications:The ideal candidate will possesses great communication and people expertiseand expertise of the contemporary performing arts scene. The candidate will be practiced in events coordination; a self-starter with initiative who can work on projects independently; detail-oriented and organized; and flexible and adaptable to change. Punctuality is essential as well as an outgoing and enthusiastic personality. If selected for an interview candidate is expected to speak with fluency about their interest and previous practice incontemporaryperformance. Position:2 open, unpaid internship, available for college credit Dates: January-May Hours:15-20 hours per week, 3-4 days per week preferred. capability to work from the FringeArts office 1 day per week strongly preferred.
