StoryCorps' Information Systems & Technical Support (IT) department is a small and dedicated team who work closely with all departments in our organization. The Information Systems & Technical Support intern will assist Progress, our Information technology vendor, in basic technical support tasks.
THE INTERNSHIP

The Tech internship offers practical work practice and an introduction to Mac desktop support. This internship will involve challenging opportunities, real technical projects, and interaction with staff. The candidate will also get real world practice in the operations and maintenance in advanced network infrastructure and state-of-the-art server systems, both cloud and on-premise. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on practice in the computer field. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practice with the technical operations of a mid-sized media nonprofit.
All StoryCorps interns are paid $15 per hour, and are expected to work between 14 and 20 hours per week. The Winter/Spring 2022 StoryCorps Internship Session runs from January 10th - May 27th, 2022. The internship will be located out of our Ft. Greene offices, with the option for in-person and/or hybrid (remote + in-person) work. Fully remote work may be considered in exceptional circumstances / with approval of the Human Resources department, but only candidates located in the NYC area are eligible for the StoryCorps Internship program at this time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
   » Assist in troubleshooting user issues.
   » Assist in organization and maintaining Information technology resources.
   » Provide technical support related to Mac equipment.
   » Lgain to effectively research and plan large scale projects including upgrades and technology rollouts.

   » You're currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a degree-granting program
   » You have excellent interpersonal and rapport-building expertise
   » You are interested in learning how Information technology HelpDesk works to support a nonprofit organization
   » You are familiar with Apple devices and systems
   » You have a strong attention to detail; you're proactive and self-motivated
   » You see the big picture, you're able to problem-solving and multi-task
   » Working with diverse populations interests you and you are respectful of those that are different than you

The StoryCorps Internship Program is designed for current students, recent graduates, early-career or career-changing candidates who are excited to lgain and contribute to the mission and goals of StoryCorps and gain valuable practice in a creative, fast-paced nonprofit organization - ideally, for school credit as part of their degree requirements.
