SUMMARY
The person in this function will report to and partner with the Director of Content & Initiatives and supervise the work of a part-time Project Coordinator. This is a project located assignment superviseing the strategic and day-to-day operations of the ITVS Humanities Documentary Development Fellowship (HDDF) - a new 18-month initiative that will support recipients in the earliest stages of their film's research and development. Responsibilities include: supporting up to 20 filmmakers in the development of their documentaries; establishing and superviseing a Humanities Advisory Committee of 12 members to augment ITVS' vetting, selection, and development process to ensure humanities skills and methodology are incorporated all over the Fellows' research and development process; working closely with Fellows to advance their materials from conception to the development of a full treatment and project plan; and working through our national network to promote the HDDF opportunity across the country.

   » Manage the Humanities Development Documentary Fund (HDDF): includes the management of filmmaker mentorship, oversight of the Humanities Advisory Committee and delivering regular communications and reports related to the Fund and the recipients progress.
   » Adapt the existing ITVS review and vetting processes to create a specific Humanities program.
   » Develop and manage HDDF workflows and information systems for program administration.
   » Identify, recruit and manage Humanities Advisors; pair Advisors with Fellows located on project goals, Humanities skills and other considerations as needed.
   » Working with ITVS' Business Affairs and Programming units, implement and manage program participant eligibility; and manage contracts with independent filmmakers and Humanities advisors all over the duration of the program.
   » Guide Fellows in developing high-potential projects that increase the diversity, urgency and relevance of the nation's humanities documentary pipeline.
   » Organize programming to broaden participants' knowledge of how to research and develop competitive humanities driven documentaries.
   » Ensure that archival research and third party rights clearance experts are included on the Advisory Committee, or through programmatic offerings, to advise and provide skills to the Fellows.
   » supervise disbursement of monthly stipends to HDDF recipients and HDDF Humanities Advisors.
   » Educate and support Fellows in positioning their films for future funding and distribution opportunities.
   » Maintain regular and consistent communications with HDDF participants and key internal stakeholders to ensure the HDDF program is operating prosperously; communications will address the HDDF's goals, milestones, programming and fellowship deliverables.
   » Maintain HDDF budget and timeline.
   » Work with ITVS' Learning and Evaluation committee members to survey, analyze and report on key findings from the program.

REQUIREMENTS
   » Required: 5+ years practice in project management.
   » Required:5+ years managing budgets of $1 million or more.
   » Required:5+ years of working with media, independent film and/or artist services.
   » Required: practice leading meetings with senior level staff.
   » Required: Demonstrated familiarity with the humanities and documentary film fields.
   » Required: practice producing workshops and events.
   » Preferred: Familiarity with measurement, evaluation and program reporting.
   » Preferred: Possesses existing relationships with NEH or other federally funded arts and humanities organizations.
