Posting DetailsPosting Number: FAE1300Advertised Title: adjunct Professor of Educational leadership abilities Campus Job location: Main Campus (Memphis, TN) Position Number: 002633 Job Category: Full-Time Faculty Department: leadership abilities Position Summary: The Department of leadership abilities (DOL) at the University of Memphis is searching for a tenure-track position in School leadership abilities. candidates are encouraged to apply who have a strong commitment to research and teaching that supports the preparation of K-12 educational leaders and/or teachers who are working in schools or other settings with historically underrepresented groups. The current search is intended to support community-engaged scholarship and enhance the course offerings within the DOL and increase collaboration with other College of Education faculty at the University of Memphis. We seek candidates with an emphasis in culturally significant education, cultural or sustainable pedagogy, ethnic minority or Indigenous education, decolonizing education, and/or equity frameworks. Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS candidates must • Have earned a doctorate in educational leadership abilities or a closely-related field of study from an accredited university by August 1, 2022; • Demonstrate an emerging/established research agenda in PK-12 educational leadership abilities; • Have practice as a site-located public school PK-12 administrator (i.e., principal, adjunct principal, instructional coach, or equivalent); • Demonstrated capability to collaborate with faculty colleagues, school district partners, policy-making bodies, and/or educational leadership abilities research associations; and, •Demonstrated commitment to social justice through urban and equity-focused teaching, research, and service. ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • practice with grant-supported research; • Demonstrated skills or interest in critical theories, including but not limited to critical race theory; • Evidence of an knowledge of context-specific educational leadership abilities and commitment to the preparation of educational leaders to meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse populations; • practice with online/ virtual instruction; • practice advising and teaching at the graduate level; and, • practice working collaboratively with faculty members, students, and school district leaders.
