Position Summary The Student Conduct and Community Standards invites applications for a part-time (0.49 FTE), 12-month, academic wage hourly position. This position is anticipated to last 8 months.

Student Conduct & Community Standards (SCCS) serves the Oregon State University (OSU) community by collaboratively creating and maintaining safe, prosperous, and inclusive living, learning, and working environment. SCCS upholds the unique mission and values of OSU through teaching, interpreting, and implementing the Oregon State University Code of Student Conduct (Code). SCCS strives to advance the principles of social, procedural, transformative, and restorative justice through the design and implementation of proactive conduct related services and programs, educationally focused interventions, fact-finding investigations, implementation of an equitable student conduct system and process and, when appropriate, the assignment of developmental sanctions.

The Coordinator provides outreach, consultation, support, and training to partners across campus and the broader community in relation to community standards and the Code. The Coordinator investigates, adjudicates and resolves reported violations of the Code while supporting the Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards (Director) in recognizing student behavioral trends for educational presentations, workshops and trainings for the campus and greater community. The individual in this position must be responsive to competing priorities in an active and escalating work environment, while meeting the on-going needs of the Unit, the Division and the University in a timely manner. This position must function with a highly developed sense of urgency.

Position tasks 60% STUDENT CONDUCT - ADJUDICATION AND RESOLUTION
- Investigates, adjudicates, and resolves reported violations of the Code, for students or student organizations, including high acuity cases that may result in assigning the sanction of disciplinary suspension or expulsion.
- Accepts and reviews incident reports as assigned by the Director or their designee.
- Compiles and organizes information for case development and arranges meetings with appropriate individuals as needed.
- Prepares charge letters and other written communications deemed appropriate in each case; tracks and ensures students or student organizations respond to these communications by sending follow up notices and initiating registration holds when necessary.
- Facilitates administrative conferences and committee hearings with those students or student organizations charged with a violation of the Code, utilizing the procedures outlined in the Code.
- Assigns appropriate sanctions for those students or student organizations found responsible for a violation of the Code of Student Conduct.
- Utilizes the conduct database system to create, maintain, and close conduct files.

35% OUTREACH AND ASSESSMENT

Develops and leads educational outreach presentations to support SCCS initiatives.
Works with SCCS administrative staff on scheduling and tracking requests for presentations, trainings, workgroup participation, and other meetings.
Works with the adjunct Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards and the SCCS Operations Coordinator on unit assessment efforts including data collection and analysis.

5% OTHER tasks AS ASSIGNED


Minimum/Required Qualifications
   » Master's degree in Higher Ed Administration, College Student Services Administration, Student Affairs Administration.
   » 5 years of professional practice in student conduct administration, student affairs, conflict resolution, or mediation at a college or university
   » 3 years' practice with a shared, commercial judicial database such as Maxient or Advocate/Symplicity.
   » practice - professional or graduate level - dealing with college students in crisis.
   » practice designing and presenting educational/training workshops.
   » Strong, demonstrated verbal and written communication expertise.
   » A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » 3 years' practice with Maxient software.
   » practice with Oregon State University conduct process.
   » Public relations/marketing practice
   » Public speaking practice.
