The Opportunity We are currently actively recruiting for our Manager, Digital Platforms position located in Wixom, MI. The Manager, Digital Platforms will relentlessly focus on serving the best audience practice across DPTV's websites, apps, and video platforms; this includes developing, designing, and managing current and emerging content distribution channels. Essential Functions • Manage updates to website pages via the Content Management System - WordPress, HTML, and CSS • Manage video content on the station's video platforms, including uploading video and curating playlists using PBS Media Manager, PBS Curate, and YouTube • Manage platform updates in collaboration with third-party site vendors • Optimize website(s) for search engine optimization through metadata development • Perform regular website accessibility reviews • Manage digital tools for website popups, ad serving, and email marketing • Manage live streaming on websites and social media platforms • Manage newsletter/email marketing platforms; including sign-up pages, contact lists, subscribe/unsubscribe governance, and newsletter template implementation • Develop graphics and images for digital marketing, i.e., carousel images, thumbnails, and banners • Collaborate and communicate among cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders • Responsible for onboarding and continuing training with internal and external stakeholders • Analyze data using Google Analytics, PBS Domo, and other sources; to manipulate data in Excel and organize large amounts of information into significant charts and presentations • Provide technical support to digital content coordinators that are assigned to initiatives • Work with PBS Digital to stay current with products and tools, including Station Manager, Curate, Media Manager, and Domo • Other tasks as assigned expertise • expertise of digital media platforms, content management systems, and customer-relation management tools • expertise of best practices in digital product development and informed and updated on technology trends, new ideas, new tools, and innovations • Versed in audience engagement practices around content and rich media • practice with MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, Teams • practice with Photoshop • Familiarity with project management tools, i.e., Teamwork • capability to set and meet deadlines, work irregular and extended hours when necessary • Attention to detail is very important • capability to address complex problems and break them down into well-defined, manageable parts • Strategic and data-driven mindset, practice with data analytic tools • Excellent oral, written, and presentation expertise, including conveying technical complexities to non-technical colleagues and documenting workflows • practice with search engine optimization (SEO) concepts • practice managing a team of staff members and independent contractors • capability to set and meet deadlines and to work irregular and extended hours when required • Familiarity with and interest in topics of importance to the Detroit Public Television community, including arts and culture, education, journalism, and the environment • expertise of and adherence to tenets of accuracy, fairness, and ethical standards of communications Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Digital Media, or related field • A minimum of five (5) years work practice in digital technology platforms, digital media, and content; prior management practice preferred • practice with rich media CMS and modern CRM systems is strongly recommended Physical Demands Individuals must be able to: • Type, and sit behind a desk for extended periods • Work in the field under a wide variety of climate conditions • Look at video, computer screens, printed documents • Occasional drive and or travel on company business Work Environment Individual is exposed to a typical office setting with computer equipment.
