The O'Shaughnessy is one of the Twin Cities' premiere venues for the performing arts. While performances in its 50-year history have represented many genres, in recent years the focus has been primarily on dance companies, most led by women and artists of color. O'Shaughnessy artists represent high artistic achievement, acknowledged by critical acclaim and support by national funding organizations. The Executive Director of The O'Shaughnessy (EDOS) aligns the vision for the venue with the mission of the university, leading all strategic, curatorial, operational, business and financial initiatives. To execute the vision, the EDOS creates partnerships with faculty, students, staff that integrate the venue's programmatic focus into academic and student life, and business arrangements that fully utilize The O'Shaughnessy and campus assets for the benefit of the university and the community-at-large.
In the past four years, national artists that The O'Shaughnessy has hosted included Camille A. Brown & Dancers, Anoushka Shankar, Tori Amos, Toshi Reagon, and Arlo Guthrie. Minnesota-located artists have included Ananya Dance Theatre, TU Dance, Ragamala Dance Company, and James Sewell Ballet. Pre-COVID, The O'Shaughnessy served over 75,000 patrons annually with over 200 rehearsal or event days per year. Presentations are frequently done in collaboration with area presenters such as the Ordway, Walker Art Center, and Northrop.

• Lead all revenue-producing initiatives, including fund development in partnership with University Institutional Advancement, business initiatives, rentals, promoters, and sponsorships.
• Lead, manage, and provide oversight to all operational, financial, and business initiatives.

Given the way campus life inherently puts people in close proximity to each other, including residence and dining halls, classrooms, and gatherings, the University has determined that a vaccination requirement is the best way to keep our community safe and prevent potential outbreaks as we return to more regular, in-person operations. St. Catherine University is requiring all students, faculty (including adjuncts contracted for the fall semester and beyond), staff, and residents age 12 and older to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series unless the University approves a medical or religious accommodation or other accommodation/exemption as required by applicable law.
