The Worcester Public Schools is soliciting applications for Speech Language Pathologist for the 2021-2022 school year.. ACCOUNTcapability OBJECTIVE: This position is accountable for coordinating the responsibility of providing diagnostic and therapeutic services though sound judgment, creativity and resourcefulness consistent with the federal and state laws and policies of the Worcester Public Schools and in compliance with state and federal Special Education regulations. PRINCIPAL Job responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the diagnostic and therapeutic services and programs within the educational environment though creativity and resourcefulness which leads to the educational growth and development of targeted students. 2. Responsible for the coordination of effective therapy presentation techniques to enhance the learning and retention process. 3. Responsible for serving as a member of the Special Education Team in writing educational plans and progress reports on SAGE-IEP, and completing assessments within the required timelines. 4. Responsible for following the students' IEPs and ensuring compliance with state and federal SPED regulations including the delivery of high quality services and the provision of accommodations/modifications for instruction and assessment. 5. Responsible for the coordination of techniques of testing/confirmation of level accomplishment. 6. Responsible for the coordination of effective techniques to gain cognitive development. 7. Responsible for the coordination of demonstrating effective techniques to gain cognitive development. 8. Responsible for the identification and referral procedures for students requiring special needs. 9. Responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of communication disorder for students ages 3.0 to 21. 10. Responsible for the preparation of written reports upon the completion of an evaluation. 11. Responsible for attending team meetings, section 504 regular education team meetings, and student support process meetings. 12. Responsible for communicating and collaborating with parents, teachers and other school personnel to provide recommendations for class accommodations, modifications, and appropriate referrals 13. Responsible for the development and implementation of goals as specified in the student's Individualized Educational Program or 504 Accommodation Plan. 14. Responsible for monitoring and documenting progress towards IEP goals and 504 Plans. 15. Responsible for creating and coordinating a schedule of services for students to ensure all IEP requirements are met. 16. Responsible for guiding and supervising speech/language adjuncts in the instruction/support of speech/language services to students with IEPs and 504 plans. 17. Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning in the least restrictive environment. 18. Responsible for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or discapability. 19. Performance of other job-related tasks as assigned. REQUIRED Appropriate qualifications: 1. Masters Degree 2. Massachusetts Licensure in Speech Language and Hearing Disorders all levels 3. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competency PREFERRED Appropriate qualifications: 1. Advanced educational preparation 2. Bilingual expertise 3. Demonstrated practice supporting students with special needs 4. Demonstrated practice with second language acquisition 5. capability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Twi or an African Language 6.
