Full-Time: Engagement Producer, Arts & Culture

Listing description
A key member of KQED's Arts & Culture unit, the Engagement Producer will create, implement and evaluate digital engagement activities. They will identify strategic opportunities to engage and develop digital audiences for KQED Arts & Culture's properties through compelling content, and leverage Arts' social media channels to drive audience participation. This position collects audience data and iterates activities across social platforms to reach, retain and engage KQED's diverse audiences. The Engagement Producer also supports in-person activities and events as needed. This position reports to the Digital Engagement Manager of Arts & Culture, and works closely with editorial teams.

Responsibilities and tasks
   » Posts and manages KQED Arts & Culture's everyday social media feeds including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
   » Copyrights and edits social media content in adherence to best practices and KQED branding.
   » Implements digital audience-centric activities and content marketing campaigns to amplify KQED Arts & Culture strategic goals. Launches new and innovative social media and web campaigns to drive audience engagement.
   » Populates the KQED Arts & Culture engagement editorial calendar that integrates with the organization-wide content calendar to support everyday editorial needs as well as the unit's tentpole series.
   » Support the creation and evaluation of our social media KPIs and identifies emerging media audience trends, consumption patterns and engagement preferences on social channels and web. Evaluates and reports on project accomplishments on a regular basis.
   » Produces original content creation including visual assets, social copy, articles and GIFs.
   » Promotes Arts & Culture content through strategic advertising campaigns on social media and partnership acquisition. Implements advertising strategy/analysis with supervision from Digital Engagement Manager.
   » Identifies user trends and collaborates on a comprehensive content development strategy that guides audience growth and direction of KQED Arts programs.
   » Collaborates with Audience Intelligence, Product and Engagement teams to identify performance measures and strategies across social media, search, web and email platforms.
   » Monitors responses and reactions from social media audiences, responding to comments and escalating to significant KQED staff when necessary.
   » Produces/reports original digital stories on trending topics with assistance from the KQED Arts & Culture editors on an as-needed basis.
   » In a social media capacity, acts as a liaison to third party partners and press, including local and national NPR and PBS organizations. Track arts and cultural news and trending topics nationally and within the Bay Area through social listening.
   » Creates and distributes social media toolkits with promotional assets optimized for multiple platforms.
   » Produces a bi-monthly newsletter with the close collaboration of Arts engagement team..
   » Assists in managing Arts Engagement intern providing support, training, and evaluation of projects.

expertise and practice Required:
   » Strong expertise of current and developing communications strategies across social media, mobile and emergent platforms.
   » Must understand best practices across multiple social media platforms and the expertise base to develop best practices for emerging media types.
   » Interest and expertise in Bay Area arts and cultural news with a focus on local communities.
   » Image editing and publishing expertise (e.g. Canva) required. Photography expertise a plus.
   » Comprehensive expertise of major social media management and content publishing tools (e.g. Sprout, Tweetdeck), social media reporting tools, dashboards, analytics for Google.
   » Working expertise and strong interest in public media, social and digital media, marketing and design.
   » Strong communication expertise, both written and in person, and the capability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders across KQED and outside partners.
   » A true team player who understands how to work productively in a fast-paced, geeky team environment.
   » expertise or interest in developing accessibility best practices in marketing materials
   » Excellent organizational expertise and strong attention to detail.
   » capability to meet deadlines and goals while working under pressure.
   » Project management practice in digital and social media.
