Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Support Services adjunct position for the College of Science (COS) Dean's Office at Oregon State University (OSU).

The College of Science is seeking a talented and creative journalism/digital media student who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled in the art of storytelling and crafting thought-provoking communications. In this position, you will produce content for print, digital and social media channels and gain hands on practice.

You will write about a wide variety of topics such as: science student activities, faculty and student profiles, academic programs, College news, groundbreaking research (in biology, zoology, biochemistry, microbiology, mathematics, physics, chemistry), events, scholarships, and anything that will engage readers while raising the visibility and impact of science. The Editorial and Content Intern will work in our cool marketing space in Kidder Hall and lgain from our award-winning creative team of designers and writers in the dean's office. We are seeking for a student who is self-motivated and takes initiative to craft story ideas.

Position tasks
   » Write and research interesting stories for our website and newsletters.
   » Identify photos and graphics to complement stories.
   » Write copy and help with flyers for lectures and other events.
   » Lgain how to post content using Drupal, our content management system.
   » Use and perfect your social media expertise to help increase consciousness among our key audiences.
   » Proofread stories for grammatical errors and OSU/connected Press Style.
   » Adhere to the OSU's brand, tone, voice and style as well as best practices.
   » Consult with our team to assess copy needs, audiences and objectives.
   » Able to manage your own projects.
   » Lgain team-building and collaboration expertise.
   » Participate in weekly creative team meetings as your schedule permits.
