Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) PAC adjunct Student Instructor for the Physical Activity Courses department at Oregon State University (OSU).

?This position provides instructional support for the Physical Activity Course Program within the College of Public Health and Human Sciences. The school has a large and prosperous undergraduate program, which includes two accredited degree options. In addition, the school delivers the courses that fulfill the fitness requirement in the Baccalaureate Core (HHS) and the elective Physical Activity Course Program (PAC).

We desire someone who can work well with others, is comfortable in a front of individuals, can demonstrate physical movement to others, and has a desire to develop their teaching expertise.?

Position tasks This position would help to assist our PAC faculty instructor in our adult lgain to swim class. They would be responsible for helping to coach and demonstrate to small groups of individuals basic swim expertise. They would work predominately in women's building pool? and for the duration of :50 minutes be in a pool. They would help to coach and encourage peers.

100% Physical Activity Instructional delivery, including:
   » Participant technique and form management (24%)
   » In class instructional support (75%)
   » CPR/first aid response if necessary (~1%)
Minimum Qualifications Employment Eligibility Requirements (http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts)

Additional Required Qualifications
   » Background in aquatic programming either as a lifeguard or swim lesson instructor?, and must have the capability to swim and perform all basic expertise up to lap swimming for freestyle.
   » CPR/AED & First Aid at the time of starting
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » Prior practice instructing
   » 2+ years swim instruction
   » Lifeguard Certified
Working Conditions / Work Schedule Instructor may need to demonstrate proper participation, this may including lifting, turning, twisting, stepping up, diving, etc located on the physical activity movement.

Instructors may need to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time, no greater than 50 minutes at one time.
