BASIC FUNCTION:
The Visitor Services & Lead Sales manager will supervise the everyday operations on the sales floor to ensure excellent customer servicein assisting visitors with admissions, ticket selling & retail sales.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Works with the Manager of Visitor Services, Admissions & Retail, the adjunct Managers and the Visitor Services & Shop SalesAssociates as well as other museum and PR staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
   » Ensure superior customer service from the Visitor Services & Shop Sales Associates so that visitors will have a positive and memorable practice.
   » Supervise associates on the sales floor, leading by example. Inform and partner with Manager of Visitor Services, Admissions & Retail to address any staff performance issues.
   » supervise the opening and closing procedures for register terminals, ensuring proper management of cash, checks and receipts to prepare the everyday deposit.
   » Fulfill shop operational tasks as scheduled and outlined by the Manager, including but not limited to: cash handling, ticket booth operations, mobile workstation, and point of sale issues, everyday schedules, and processing of internet orders.
   » Assist with merchandise check-in, tagging and merchandising.
   » Assist with inventory management, including offsite physical inventory, product transfers, new receipts and vendor returns.
   » Coordinate special mail and website orders including packaging, shipping, and billing concerns.
   » Assist in everyday maintenance of work environment including restocking, supply ordering, merchandise check-in and inventory management.
   » Assist with visitor and customer concerns including but not limited to damaged mail orders, returns/voids, shipping, and safety issues.
   » Conduct continuing new hire and new promotional training, as directed by the Manager.
   » Show leadership abilities in selling museum programs such as historic property tours, event tickets, admissions, and memberships.
   » Exhibit confidence in suggestive selling, hand selling, and expertise of shop merchandise and how Information technology relates to the Museum mission.
   » Assist with other tasks for admissions or the shop as needed.
Appropriate qualifications:
   » Demonstrates leadership abilities, communication, and high-touch customer service expertise.
   » Team mentality and positive can-do attitude is required
   » Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving expertise and initiative.
   » Strong computer and data entry expertise, comfortable with POS (Point of Sale) systems and CRM databases. expertise of the Altru system is a plus.
   » Must have previous retail practice and have excellent cash handling and transaction management expertise.
   » capability to stand for 4 hours at a time and able to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.
   » Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
HOURS REQUIRED:
   » Part-time. Must be willing and able to work all assigned shifts, including weekends, holidays, and special events. This includes the capability to work at least 4 weekend days and 2 events per month.
   » Average of 20-30 hours per week, with a variable schedule, depending on the needs of the business.
   » Flexibility is necessary.
