Posting DetailsPosting Number: 20112253Position Title: Custodian #499281 FTE: 1.00 Employment type: Staff Department: Cardinal Village Operations Job Summary/Basic Function: Job Summary: The Cardinal Village custodian plays an essential function in maintaining the cleanliness of buildings and supporting an environment that promotes health, attitude, and pride of students. In addition to regular cleaning functions, Cardinal Village custodians provide direct support to residents and staff in cleaning and maintenance of furniture and cleaning equipment. The Cardinal Village custodian also serves as a function model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and valuable nature. Essential Job Functions: Cleaning Functions: Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and refinish floors; clean, dust and polish furniture; wash windows and walls; clean restrooms; dispose of trash in hallways make certain all areas of the building are kept in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition according to cleaning standards. Provide safety by providing wet floor signs on wet floors; Adheres to safety measures for cleaning, lifting, moving, and operating equipment. Removes extraneous dirt/markings from interior and exterior vertical/horizontal surfaces (walls, doors, etc.) Report Maintenance Department on matters relating to mechanical equipment and/or building maintenance. Keeps equipment clean. May assist in inspecting buildings and facilities for cleanliness and report needed repairs. Cleans and sanitize all surfaces, surfaces, including door handles, knobs, push bars, push plates, replenish toilet paper, paper towels and soap as needed. Clean kitchen area, sanitize and clean kitchen counters, stove, and sink and appliances. Clean drinking fountains, clean elevator doors and panels. Clean main entrance doors, including glass. Clean and sweep laundry rooms and floors. Complete work orders in a timely manner, submit to manager. Wash breezeway walls and doors. Clean window and blinds in offices, lobby, lounge, and kitchen and laundry areas. Mop scrub breezeway walls and doors, high dust and remove cobwebs. Performs other tasks as assigned. Administrative Functions: Initiate maintenance service requests according to procedures; follows through to assure that maintenance is performed in a timely manner. Maintains inventory and request cleaning supplies and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks. Secures equipment and supplies and protects against pilferage, loss, theft, or abuse. Safety and Security: Periodically inspects, or otherwise maintains consciousness of, facility and equipment to detect and prevent Injuries or damage. Key Competencies: Position typically has no responsibility for supervision or direction of others. Personal contacts are with employees within the work unit and/or general public, including students, in a highly structured situation which involves obtaining, clarifying, or giving facts or Information. This job title performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with little room for deviation.
