Position DetailsPosition Title Undergraduate Student Support ServicesJob Title Griggs Center Peer Mentor Appointment Type Student Employee Job Location Corvallis Position Appointment Percent 100 Appointment Basis 12 Min Hourly Rate $12.75 (Standard); $12.00 (Non-Urban); $14.00 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $18.00 (Standard); $17.50 (Non-Urban); $18.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill 4 part-time (not to exceed 20 hours per week) Griggs Center (Peer Mentor) position with the Griggs Center at Oregon State University (OSU). Griggs Center Peer Mentors will support the Center's effort to facilitate a prosperous college transitional practice for incoming students. Peer Mentors will be working with new students all over the academic year. Peer Mentors will help create a welcoming environment and familiarize EOP students with college life. They will help the incoming EOP students adapt socially and academically, as well as monitor any adjustment issues. Peer Mentors will help EOP students navigate college life at Oregon State University by providing the students information about available resources on campus, orienting them to the expectations of an institution of higher education, and encouraging participation in all Griggs Center activities and events. Position tasks » Participate in planning and conducting student workshops and activities » Meet with EOP students weekly during fall, winter & spring terms » Assist in coordinating and participate in all Griggs Center on-and-off campus events.
