We are dedicated to excellence in domestic manufacturing and a healthy, open work environment for all our staff. The setting for this position is a 5,500 sq ft studio in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia that houses the creation and fabrication of our ceramic products. With thirteen current employees and growing, we offer a benefits package that includes employer subsidized health and dental insurance with competitive PTO and annual bonuses. P o s i t i o n Felt+Fat is seeking a full-time Junior Production Tech, with the expertise and abilities to work in a small but growing manufacturing environment. Previous ceramic practice is preferred but not required. Candidates must have strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail and enthusiasm for craft manufacturing. Candidates will be cross trained in a broad variety of forming and finishing techniques, from slip-casting and trimming to hydraulic press operation and various glazing techniques. The ideal candidate is seeking an opportunity to become a key member in a growing business. R e s p o n s i b i l i t i e s Slip casting ceramic products De-seaming / wheel and hand trimming Operation of RAM hydraulic press Operation of industrial Pug Mill Dip & spray glazing Glaze mixing Clay mixing Glaze loading / unloading General studio maintenance Working collaboratively within the production team and cross-departmentally as needed.
