Minimum QualificationsCurrent unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required. Applicant must have two years of practice as an RN and a minimum of two years of practice in healthcare management/supervision. Also required is one year of practice in the provision of long-term care facility services or practice working in a long-term care facility licensed as a skilled nursing facility or a skilled nursing facility which is a distinct part of a hospital.
Preferred QualificationsMust have an Associate's degree in Nursing or health care related field from a regionally accredited institution. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or health related field is preferred.National Career Readiness Certificate and Bilingual is preferred.
Position DescriptionProvide leadership abilities and supervision of instructional personnel and program areas within the Workforce Continuing Education Allied Health program. Assure program areas are up-to-date and in compliance with state and national accreditation standards. Assess community educational needs and interests of participant target groups and renew courses offered due to changing needs and requirements. Determine the number and types of allied health courses to be scheduled each semester. Responsible for budget planning and maintaining adequate supplies/inventory for programs. Maintain close supervision of course records, instructor competency and student participation. Instruct Workforce Continuing Education Allied Health courses as significant to the schedule, development of new curriculum and/or delivery methods. Recruit, train and supervise instructors in the preparation and submission of student registrations, assessment, attendance, and other course-related paperwork. Serve on external and internal committees to provide leadership abilities and input. Visit classes supervised and complete on-site visitation of records and travel to clinical sites as required. Participate in administrative staff activities. May require some evenings and weekends. Perform other related tasks assigned by the Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education Services & Community Engagement and Wayne Community College Administration.
