Job Opportunity: Finance and Budget Consultant II:KCUR 89.3 FMJob description: Finance and Budget Consultant II Listing description The OpportunityThis position will be responsible for the full array of accounting, financial, and budgeting activities for KCUR 89.3. As such, this position partners with KCUR's unit leadership abilities to formulate budgets, develop financial plans, and monitor financial performance. This position is an important liaison between central finance and unit leadership abilities and is critical to the prosperous implementation of financial strategies and performance.KCUR 89.3is the National Public Radio affiliate in Kansas City and is an editorially independent community service of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. tasks to include but are not limited to: » Monitor all fiscal activity (revenues, expenses, and grants) » Work with leadership abilities to develop and monitor budgets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis » Participate in the development of strategy (where appropriate), performance against plans, long range and other financial planning » Ensure compliance with all regulatory, fiduciary, fiscal, and reporting requirements » Provide financial leadership abilities and skills to the departments being supported » Ensure that resources are well utilized » Financial management of multiple local, regional, and national grants » tasks include some managery responsibilities » Work as needed on ad hoc projects and reports » Work with internal auditors as needed » Partner with KCUR leadership abilities to support data driven decision making » Engage or participate in station evens, activities, and internal meetings as a member of the KCUR team. » Monitor capital asset activity (where appropriate) » Collaborate and work with financial offices at other public radio stations as well as NPR & Corporation for Public Broadcasting » Other tasks as assigned Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and practice and at least 6 years of practice from which comparable expertise and skills can be acquired is necessaryPreferred Qualifications» Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred» CPA or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance ispreferred » broad practice working with budgets and budgetdevelopment » practice with forecasting and long-range planning » managery practice is preferred, but not mandatory » Demonstrated capability to multi-task, collaborate, and supportmore multiple departments » expertise of fund accounting (non-profit, GASB) is a plus Organization: KCUR 89.3 FM Job Job location: Kansas City, MO United States Job Job Category: Budget/Finance Deadline: Employment Type: Full time Send Application Materials To: KCUR 89.3 isthe NPR affiliate in Kansas City and is an editorially independent community service of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
