Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Vulnercapability Management Analyst (VMA) Student adjunct position reporting to the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Manager (GRCM) at Oregon State University's (OSU) Office of Information Security (OIS). OIS provides information security services, policy, and support for the Oregon State University Community. The incumbent will work with colleagues in OIS, University Information Technology (UIT) and distributed Information technology units (such as Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, ROOTS, etc.), and the OSU community at large, in support of the OIS Vulnercapability Management Program. OIS is OSU's central authority for promoting and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availcapability of the OSU community's critical information. The GRC Manager leads OIS efforts to manage risks to OSU's data, and coordinates compliance with university, local, state, federal, and international legal and regulatory requirements.

Position tasks
   » Process data files from weekly external vulnercapability scans to ensure accessibility of vulnercapability data to the OSU Information technology community;
   » Utilize enterprise tracking tools to correlate vulnercapability data with identifying information for OSU Information technology assets in order to inform stakeholders of vulnerabilities requiring mitigation or remediation; and
   » Track vulnerabilities and remediation efforts using departmental reporting tools.

   » Clear, effective, and professional written and verbal communication expertise, to be validated with a writing sample;
   » Strong demonstrated expertise using the Microsoft Office suite;
   » Strong organizational expertise, mental agility, and tolerance for ambiguity; must be comfortable working in an environment where priorities or direction can shift quickly.
   » Relicapability, effective time management, and capability to meet deadlines;
   » Effective capability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team;
   » practice with similar projects or job tasks in a previous office setting; and
   » Previous practice with professional communication; familiarity with professional etiquette.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » Interest in or practice with technology or security programs; and
   » Interest in or practice working with data, vulnercapability intelligence, or similar work.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule Hourly wage dependent on practice. Students with no practice will start at the $12.75 minimum wage.
Student that is hired may start work in December if mutually agreeable to the student hired and the hiring manager.
