Science History InstituteThe Science History Institute is currently recruiting for two part-time (20-24 hrs per week), limited-duration (15 weeks), paid positions of Archives Intern. The Archives Intern will work with the Institute's Senior Archivist and Digital Preservation Archivist to prepare for the launch of the public user interface of ArchivesSpace. The Archives Intern will be responsible for editing and encoding into EAD the Institute's legacy finding aid collection.The ideal candidate will possess the following Appropriate qualifications: » Bachelor's degree, preferably in a humanities or social science discipline » Strong interest in archives, libraries, and digital humanities. » expertise of archival description; practice with the creation of finding aids and expertise of DACS and MARC preferred. » Some coursework towards the completion of a master's degree in library and information science is a plus. » practice using database and/or collections management systems; practice with ArchiveSpace and/or EAD is a plus. » Excellent written communications expertise. » Detail oriented with strong organization expertise. » Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and videoconferencing tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
