The Opportunity
The Director of Development Operations (Director)serves on the Advancement Management Team and is responsible for ensuring vertical and horizontal integration, strong cross-functional collaboration and coordination, and high quality outputs across all fundraising operations activities including fundraising analytics and reporting, budget and revenue management and forecasting, gift management (processing, acknowledgements, and agreements) donor communications, engagement, and stewardship; volunteer leadership abilities (Board of Directors and WBEZ Next); prospectmanagement and research; and human resources. This position directly supervises four staff members in fulfillment of these goals.

Essential tasks and Responsibilities
Development Operations Management and Execution (60%)
   » supervises fundraising analytics andreporting. Ensures Salesforce use maximization and optimization with the Business Intelligence team and oversight and organization of the Advancement Team SharePoint sites.
   » Directs donorcommunications, engagement, and stewardship, creating an integrated program that partners closely with the frontline fundraising team, CAO, and CEO. Develops a comprehensive, intentional, and tailored stewardship program located on gift levels. Creates significant engagement opportunities for donors and prospects all over the year. Produces an annual donor impact report that highlights the impact of CPM.
   » supervises volunteer leadership abilities activities of the Board of Directors and WBEZ Next and other groups including proactive planning and strategy by convening key stakeholders. Responsible for creating compelling presentations and reports for the Board and other key donor constituencies with the support of the Development Associate.
   » Builds prospect research capacity with the prospect research manager, including the creation of informative donor/prospect briefings, consistent identification of new viable prospects screened for philanthropic capacity and affinity, and prospect/donor due diligence. Working closely with the CAO, leads the strategy, development, and maintenance of a comprehensive prospect management system focused on moving donors and prospects through the fundraising cycle with the support of the Executive Administrator and in close partnership with the Director of Major Gifts and Director of Institutional Giving.
   » supervises the gift management process including gift processing, smooth creation of timely and consistent gift acknowledgments, and drafting and reviewing agreements and ensuring appropriate internal reviews and approvals.

Revenue Forecasting/Tracking, Analytics, and Reporting (30%)
   » supervises and tracks all fundraising revenueand organizes the frontline fundraising team to review development revenue on a monthly basis and forecast annual projections on a quarterly basis. Reports regularly to the CAO on progress towards goals.
   » Creates and ensures accuracy and efficacy of fundraising reports and dashboards for the CAO, CEO, theDevelopment team,Finance staff, Board of Directors meetings, DevelopmentCommittee, Governance Committee, and others as needed.
   » supervises tracking of performance metrics for development staff and works with managers to identify issues early and drives toward goal attainment.
   » Monitors and approves department expense budget, purchases, and expenditures.
   » Serves as the primary liaison to the Finance team and represents Development in standing meetings with Finance. Works with Finance staff onthe creationand monitoring of department budget and revenue and represents Advancement interests in CPM decisions on financial issues as appropriate.

Human Resources Administration (10%)
   » Serves as primary point of contact and collaborative partner with CPM's HR colleagues and managers on recruitment, compensation,and performance management for Advancement. Ensuresmanagers'knowledge of and compliance with federal and local employment law and HR policies.
   » Managesdepartmental recruitmentsand coordinates process and paperwork. Prepares job descriptions, screen resumes, interview candidates,and check references as necessary. Works with HR to ensure all organizational processes are followed correctly.
   » Enhancesworkplace morale and culture for all Advancement staff with a commitment to DEI.
   » Organizes and leads the department's program for staff training, retreats, and professional development. Mentors andservesas a resource forstaff.

Required expertise and practice
   » Bachelor's degree, or equivalent training and practice.
   » 6years' work practice in non-profit fundraising or related field
   » Demonstrated practice with financial analysis, preferably in a non-profit environment.
   » leadership abilities and management practice to develop and supervise staff and to direct day-to-day activities and operations is required.
   » practice in a development office is strongly preferred.
   » The prosperous candidate will be an practiced leader and team player who welcomes collaborative decision-making and possesses an appreciation of CPM's mission.
   » knowledge of fundraising in a complex and dynamic organization required.
   » Demonstrated capability to handle confidential and sensitive issues and information.

   » Attention to detail and the capability to operate with considerable independence to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints.
   » Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced proficiency in Excel; practice with Salesforce orotherrelational databasepreferred.
   » Mustpossess the capability towork with diversestakeholder groups (both internal and external)andengender arespectful,welcoming, and inclusive environment.
   » capability toaccuratelysynthesize, analyze,and translatedatafor financial and activity reports.
   » Excellent project management expertiserequired including the capability to manage multiple projects, drive to deadlines, and maintain disciplined adherence to department goals.
